TeachTapes for German National Anthem
A few weeks ago we told you about the arrangement of the German National Anthem in the Barbershop Style by David Wright.
Today we are very happy to announce that Alexander Kulessa from Munich produced TeachTracks / LearningTapes for all three arrangements and gave them to BinG! for free. Many thanks to him!

BinG! groups do well in European contest
German Barbershop quartet as new European male quartet champions
Veldhoven (NL), April 2013 - BinG! groups scored high at the European
convention in
the Dutch city of Veldhoven, held March 7th – 9th, 2013. Out of 53
European
barbershop choruses and quartets competing, our male quartet
Halftones became
the European Male Quartet Champion and our mixed quartet Tonikum
was awarded
with the bronze medal in the mixed championship. In their categories:
Male quartets:
Take Four made it to the fourth place, Liedhaber came in
seventh. Female quartets:
Mission Possible came in fifth, Chromagic eighth. Mixed
quartets: Klangküsse
seventh, SomeSing tenth. Amongst the male choruses,
Herrenbesuch ranked
fourth and for the female choruses, Ladies First came in on the
ninth place.

"Koningshof" convention centre was packed as everybody watched the competitors, being judged by a panel of 14 international, certified judges. Overall, Holland Harmony was hosting 2.500 singers from Holland, Sweden, Germany, Spain, Great Britain, the United States and New Zealand.
The German barbershop organization BinG! (Barbershop in Germany) was
represented by
nine quartets and three choruses as well as three of BinG!’s board
members. Manfred Adams, President of BinG! : "We appreciate the
perfect and smooth organization of this huge Pan-European contest. It
represents the variety and strength of European Barbershop. German
barbershoppers have greatly improved even since the last championships
on this level, and all German groups
scored very high. We congratulate all participants and look forward to
the next
contest of this kind!"
Nelleke Dorrestijn, President of the Dutch female organization Holland
Harmony,
conducting this contest , was happy with the high level of singing. The
male chorus
contest champion, Zero 8 from Sweden, directed by Doug
Harrington, scored 89,3 %
and set the level for the Europeans. Also the female chorus champion the
White
Rosettes from Great Britain, were
magnificent. We can’t wait to be part of the next European
convention!"
Barbershop at the World Choir Games in Riga, 2014
At the upcoming World Choir games, September 9-19, 2014 in Riga, there
will again be a seüarate category for Barbershop. Choirs as well as
quartets are welcoome to participate. After Westminster Chorus (BHS) and
White Rosettes (LABBS) becoming "Choir of the World" we can for
sure say that this event, visited by up to 400 international choruses
representing 64 countries in the past, is unique. INTERKULTUR offers
Concerts, championships, seminars and workshops to all participants. the
judging panel consists of 5-7 judges, in the past amongst others Joe
Cerutti and Rob Campbell, both well known to the German and European
scene, have been appointed and they both recommend this event. Rob
Campbell is already re-appointed to the games in 2014.
Judging criteria are intonation, interpretation practice, artistic
impression and soudn quality.
Registration costs are €200 for early birds until September 15, 2013.
the Barbershop category is scheduled on September 16-18, 2014.

Just in time for the European Convention 2013
When abroad, German barbershopers are sometimes asked if they can sing the German national anthem. Well, now we can respond: Yes, we can!

CoesfeldCup 2012
During the BinG! Harmony College at the
Kolping-Familienferienstätte Regenbogenland in Olpe the annual
CoesfeldCup Contest for Barbershop Quartets took place at October 3rd,
2012.

Lemon Squeezy from Sweden for wining the Collegiate Quartet
Championship, our friend from the Ambassadors of Harmony for the Chorus
Championship and … well we'll see in a few moments while watching

Results of Contests at the Barbershop Music Festival 2012 online
From now on we present you the scores of the Quartet as well as the Chorus Contest, which were held during the 11th German Barbershop Music Festival in Dortmund.

BinG! congrats Martini for winning the SAI Quartet Championship 2011
Martini Quartett are now crowned queens: they win the Quartet Championship 2011 of
Sweet Adelines International.

European Barbershop: visit friends at the Irish convention
Limerick is the host city for The Irish Association of Barbershop Singers Convention 2010. For this Convention, the venue will be University Concert Hall on October 1rst and 2nd 2010.
For the first time: Harmony College in Olpe
Our annual Harmony College, a workshop organized by BinG! especially for
barbershoppers and would-be barbershoppers, lasts four days and used to
take place in Autumn every year in Coesfeld. Due to the rising request
for capacities it will be conducted at the Family Recreation Center "REBOLA" in Olpe from October
1st until October 4th 2009.
It is the contest venue of the "Coesfeld Cup", our annual
quartet contest where quartets can qualify for the Barbershop Music
Festival.
