Alexander Koller
Alexander Koller is a co-organiser of BinG!’s Coaching Certification Programme and a music judge at the BHS.
Alexander discovered barbershop twelve years ago with the Big Apple Chorus in New York. He was a baritone in the quartets Urban Legend and Connection, and an organiser of the European Harmony Brigade.
As a coach, Alexander aims to help you shape your pieces musically so that they are even more enjoyable for you and your audience. He can work with you to recognise and make the most of the harmonic and rhythmic structure of your pieces, as well as the arranger’s choices. Terms that frequently crop up in Alexander’s coaching sessions include ‘forward motion’, ‘groove’, ‘tension’, ‘texture’ and ‘storytelling’. Last but not least, he is hooked on barbershop harmonies and can help you intonate your chords cleanly, use them musically and still keep the piece moving.
