Female quartet from Mettmann and Düsseldorf - established 2024

Sometimes all it takes is a long weekend filled with barbershop singing, four exhausted friends, and a shared youth hostel room – and something very special happens. That's what happened at Harmony College 2024: four singers from Miss Harmony in Erkrath, all of whom are basses in the barbershop chorus, shared a room – and discovered their shared desire to sing in a quartet.

The basic idea came quickly and the calculation was simple – four roommates equals a quartet. That very night, Bass & Beyond was born – with lots of laughter, musical curiosity, and a good dose of courage to leave their comfort zone. Because when everyone starts out as a bass, someone (or rather, almost everyone) has to venture into unfamiliar vocal territory, whether they like it or not.

Since then, the four have been singing their way through their first songs as a quartet and are exploring where the journey might take them. Because as the name suggests: the bass was just the beginning...
